A Photograph of Tamilmathiyan

Late R.Tamilmathiyan aged 49 is survived with wife, a daughter and a son. His daughter is doing B.E.at St.Peters Engg. College, Chennai and son is studying 6th standard at Jawahar School. More than 20 years he worked in this college. Almost all students might have received their Mark Sheets, Provisional Certificate, Degree Certificate etc. from him only. He was well versed in MS word and excel. His sudden demise is a great loss to our college. 

A Sad News

Thiru R.Tamilmathiyan/Assistant, working in the office, who was looking after the student-university related work, is dead, by a road accident at Chidambaram, today. My deepest condolence to all his family members.  May his soul rest in peace. 

JSC-Founder Principal

We invited Dr.K.Govindasamy, the founder Principal of JSC for the convocation. That gentleman postponed his US visit for this function and attended. I met him after a many years gap. Time could make any physical change in  him. We were totally surprised on seeing him. Clear thoughts, great quality, gem of characters. Really, he inspired every one, including the management. Of course, I take him as one of the models for my new assignment. He blessed the college for a prosperous future and suggested few ideas for the betterment of JSC. He joined the college during 1987 and left during 1993. Those days were remarkable days. I hope those students will be happy on seeing his photos.

By the way, I am very happy to announce that only few days are ahead for launching a website of JSC.
I hope it will be very useful for the formation of JSC alumni. Let us wait for few days...

Graduation Day 2011 Photos

The Graduation Day function on 16-10-2011 was conducted well. The honourable CMD/NLC Ltd., gave an excellent speech for the young graduates. He instituted two gold medal awards on his daughter's name for the best out going science student[one boy & one girl].

Graduation Day 2011 Postponed

Due to some unavoidable administrative reasons, the scheduled Graduation day is postponed to 16-10-2011. The venue and timings will be the same. Participants, kindly make a note of this & we beg your sorry for the inconvenience.

October 9th is the tentative date for the Graduation Day.
As usual, venue is the Lignite Hall, Block-11.
I have a plan to invite the founder Principal Dr.K.Govindasamy for this occasion.
Our  honorable CMD Shri A.R.ANSARI is going to be the Chief Guest.

Speech On Tamilan TV

On Sunday, [04-09-2011], by 9.00 a.m., on Tamilan TV, I speak in a debate presented by "Thai Thondumaiyam" Neyveli. Please watch, if time finds.

Lunch Time Reduced

Presently, the lunch time for the students extends from 12.00 noon to 1.00 pm. The management decided to reduce it to 30 minutes. i.e.from 12.00 to12.30. The college closes by 2.30 pm. instead of 3.00 pm. This comes into effect from 29th August. 

Birth Day Of JSC

Today Aug 10th is the actual birth day of JSC. Today is the beginning of the 25th year. Only this day people(GT,RSS, JayaSudarsan, Marudurar, Librarian, Britto, Mary, etc..) joined the college, which was located at block-10, and was a part of the boys school building. We only started the process of recruiting the Principal and other profs. I only made the first admission to the college. Her name was Sudha, admitted in I B.Sc. Computer Science. Now she is in US and her hubby is Ramesh,also in the same class, also in US. My first class room teaching started only in I B.Sc. Comp.Sci. Sweet memories....

 Let us all wish JSC for a tremendous growth.

Graduation Day 2011

It is proposed to conduct Graduation Day during the 2nd week of September 2011. Students those who passed out in 2009 and 2011 can participate. Interested can approach the office of JSC.

Discipline among students.

1. I have been insisting the dress code of JSC among students. i.e. No T-shirts, Jeans, etc. To my surprise, in medical college also, recently, it is insisted. Nowadays, it is a tendency among the boys to wear jacket like shirts, very short and very tight. I used to tell them, then pant is not the matching dress, better wear saree. Slowly, they are changing to decent getup.
2. I strictly insists "No to mobile phone inside the campus". The reasons are, it deviates the students from the very purpose of coming to the college and secondly, the cheaper gadgets are more harmful to their health. We have a coin booth inside the campus. So, no need to possess a mobile phone. 

Many students welcome these changes.

First Year Classes commence on 21-07-2011

We conducted interview on 16th July. The response was not impressive. Some people are good at subjects but poor in communication and vice-versa. We have selected some Lecturers and the journey of the JSC resumes. For all the First Years, Classes commence on 21-07-2011. So far, about 400 students have been admitted in I year and it is expected to move up to 550.

Wanted Guest Lecturers

New Website for JSC

It is proposed to create a new website for JSC. The old one was not attractive and it was poorly maintained. Students, those who are familiar with creation of a website, or who are in this business, can contact me with their suggestion.

Meeting Of Arrival & Departure

The Principal Dr.S.Rengarajan hands over the charges in the presence of the College Secretary Thiru P.Kuppuraj, GM/ Corporate Computer Services/ NLC. They together lead Dr.V.T.Chandrasekaran to the Principal's Chair. The parting Principal is honoured by subordinates.

SEND OFF TO MARUDHURAR (29-06-2011)

New Princi of JSC is VTC

Today, I was issued appointment order as Principal of JSC. Dr.Gift Christopher Dhanraj/HOD/English  has been appointed as Vice-Principal. I am to hold the additional charge of HOD/Mathematics also. July 1st, I have to assume the charge of Principal. Dr.S.Rengarajan is to be relieved from the post on 30-06-2011. I appeal all my past & present students to tender their support for my new endeavor.

Interview For New Principal

The college management conducted an interview for the internal candidates for the post of Principal on 3rd May 2011 and soon they will issue order for the new Principal. Along with me, SIX candidates attended the interview and awaiting for the result. Within a week it will be known.

Alumni of JSC

Prof.J.Alavandan/ HOD/ Computer, by the management,  is entrusted with the task of forming JSC alumni. As the Silver Jubilee of JSC is nearing, it may serve an important role in the celebration. Soon he may contact every alumnus of JSC either by facebook or by some other means. I request every alumnus of JSC to co-operate with him in forming the ALUMNI of JSC.

Final Moments-GT left the college.

Dr.G.Thangaraj left the college and joined as a Professor & Head of the Dept. Of Mathematics in Thiruvalluvar University Vellore. 

A BIG LOSS: GT also leaves JSC...

Dr.G.Thangaraj / HOD / Mathematics will be relived from duty at JSC as he has got an offer at Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore, as a Professor. As it is a better choice, by tomorrow [01-03-2011] he leaves and joins Thiruvalluvar University on the following day.

When he joined the college(1987), the Department of Mathematics was offering only UG course. Only because of his effort, along with the support of the management, the department has grown to research department level. Now the departure of GT from the department, from the college, makes every one sad. If at all  
I am a Doctorate Degree holder, the role of Dr.G.T. was vital. First, he inspired me, motivated me and then supported me to obtain this degree.

I personally feel a hollow in our college. The absence of GT is big loss to the college. Loosing experienced person like GT and others is not a good sign.

Let us wish GT for a better and prosperous future at Vellore.

Dr.G.Suganthi quits..

Dr.G.Suganthi, Department of BBA quits JSC and joins a Govt.College in Chidambaram on 28-02-2011. Dr.G.T. has been allotted a Govt. College at Tindivanam and Dr.R.Suresh/BBA at Chidambaram and myself at Cuddalore. Still, me and GT are analysing the pros and cons of quitting, as it is only an entry level appointment. But the Govt. has not given any deadline for the joining. Anyway, soon we will decide.

Government Posting

Due to the last year happenings in our college, out of frustration, four teachers applied for the post of Asst.Professor in Govt.Colleges in Tamilnadu, a few months back. Now those 4 got  selected and going to receive appointment order from the CM of Tamilnadu on     25-02-2011. Nobody knows, which colleges these 4 will be posted.
Those 4 are
1.Dr.G.Thangaraj, HOD/Mathematics
2.Dr.V.T.Chandrasekaran, Reader/Mathematics
3.Dr.G.Suganthi, Reader/Business Admn.
4.Dr.V.Suresh, Reader/Business Admn.

The disassociation of these 4 from the college makes many hearts heavy(including these 4).
But I have not decided anything on my quitting but GT.
Let us wait and see how things develop.

Principal's Position

The continuation of the Principal receives poor support from the teachers' side. He finds it uncomfortable and expressed with his close associates that he would quit at the end of Feb. Still, the management has not decided the succeeder.

I wish to write often, but the days are disappearing without any significance in the college. Let us hope for a better future of the college.

Subathra retired on 31-12-2010

After a long years of commendable service, the lady, Subathra/Sweeper, retired on 31-12-2010. A small farewell function was organised by the management. Let us all bless her for a peaceful retired life.

Re(Dis)appointment!!!

Both Subha and Sunil are absolutely correct. His reappointment is a total disappointment for every one. He deprives others opportunity too.

Same Principal ?!?!

The same man continues as the Principal for another six months on reduced, consolidated salary. Only tomorrow it will be known that whether he will accept or reject this offer...The coming year may be one of the past years if he continues...
